Load Control Agent

Main Objective

The main duty of a GLC agent is determining the centre of gravity of a plane upon departure and ensuring that this is within safe limits. In doing so a GLC agent is responsible for the processing of flights, this includes determination of weights upon which the flight plan is based, the drawing up of loading instructions to ground crew and the release of the final Load and Trim sheet, a statutory prerequisite of departure.

Responsibility to produce high quality and cost-effective load sheets with safety being the highest priority to contribute towards the overall business strategy within Global Load Control (GLC) by performing the main income generating activity for the company. Positively contribute and maintain a safety and JUST based culture.

Position tasks and functions 

• Ensuring the safety management system is lived within GLC.
• Ensuring flights are handled and loaded according to all safety regulations
• Ensuring that the correct data is entered into the correct systems manually when necessary
• Performance of Weight and balance calculation of Lufthansa and customer airline flights globally
• Issuance of documentation for the complete flight handling process, including loading instruction and load sheet
• Usage of the proper IT tools and communicate verbally (when necessary) to other stakeholder involved in the flight handling process
• Understanding the customer and requirements for every flight
• Understanding the flight regulations for every flight
• Reporting of IT outages
• Self-reporting on safety relevant issues on flights for continuous improvement
• Ensuring safe and quality handover during shift changes
• Continuous improvement and knowledge transfer approach to flight operations
• Team work with other Load Control Agents
• Adherence to work schedules and shifts and flight timelines

Minimum Requirements 

• Proficient English language skills: written and spoken
• Completed Secondary education as a minimum
