Maintenance and Operations Improvement Manager

The Maintenance and Manufacturing Improvement Manager as a member of the plant management team is responsible to manage the maintenance department, the packaging and process capability improvement team and Continuous Improvement team. Ensures plant production and utilities equipment functionality, coordinates maintenance activities, maintain and improve the buildings and facilities and responsible for sustainability agenda.

The Maintenance and Manufacturing Improvement Manager translates the plant vision, strategy and PepsiCo code of conduct in his/her team. Accountable for departmental strategy which is translated into 3 -5 years action plans, AOP’s, procedures and performance management of team members with clearly defined goals and KPI’s.

The Maintenance and Manufacturing Improvement Manager builds relationship with external and internal (within PepsiCo) stakeholders, ensure proper people management and collaborate with local authorities and consultants in order to deliver operational objectives.

Working with manufacturing Management Team, drive and actively implement CI initiatives which belong to one or more CI workstreams in the local plant organization with sensitivity towards the organisational structure, approach, culture, people and processes. Responsible for the successful management and implementation of business improvement projects/initiatives across local Make organization by developing an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team and building working relationships through x-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the operational specialist team and the delivery of optimised performance programmes eg. IPS, QCDM, LEAN and other CI related initiatives.
• Responsible for the development of the maintenance strategy and the set up and implementation of the operational action plan
• Development of utilities, production process and packaging technology knowledge
• Deliver maintenance budget: Manage budget effectively to achieve and deliver operational KPI’s, stock control etc.
• Work in close cooperation within the Pepsico engineering and maintenance community and central services; global procurement, sustainability team etc.
• As a GEHSMS- duty ( ISO systems) holder ensure the own team and contractors are aligned and operate according the plant environmental and safety processes and procedures.
• GCS –owner: SAP/PM process-owner.
• Lead, define and develop continuous improvement activities designed to improve performance, such as the planning and running of lean events
• Report on progress of projects, understanding the risks, dependencies, budgets, resourcing, issues, critical milestones and forthcoming pipeline, and actions necessary to ensure success
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
• Identify business improvement opportunities within the organization
• Facilitate best practice sharing from Lean Six Sigma projects.

Requirements:

• Minimum BSC degree in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or other operations related fields
• Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen Lead certification is definite advantage
• Communication skills to work with all levels of the organization from manufacturing employees to corporate executives.
• Strong English language skills.
• Strong project management skills to co-ordinate implementation across multiple locations. Able to lead functional project teams.
• Functional excellence;
• Capable to manage maintenance processes in the (food) processing industry;
• Experience in technical concepts as e.g. utility distribution systems, automation concept, process optimization
• SAP-experience within the manufacturing/maintenance domain is an advantage
• Experienced with HACCP and ISO standards
