Role Summary
The NPI Project Engineer leads production and process development for New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives. This role ensures smooth transition of new products into manufacturing by applying best practices, standardization, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides leadership in production and process expertise to drive new product introduction initiatives and successfully transition into production operations.
- Provides support in developing with best practices and standardization for new product introduction, product transfers and production processes.
- Manages new product projects, product transfers, introduction of prototypes or processes through quoting, pilot production, and production launch phases.
- Reviews drawings, BOMs, specifications and other documentation to develop production plans and production costs.
- Mediates between all assigned engineering documentation, Project and R&D team members to ensure product inputs and to improve the manufacturability and sustainability of new products through the application of best practices in standardized and required production processes.
- Mediates between internal Engineering team, Production, Quality and Management to ensure smooth production launch phases.
- Daily collaboration with technical teams to ensure accurate interpretation of their needs and requirements.
- Prepares clear schedules, plans, resource needs and manages all technical activities to ensure project accuracy and quality.
- Planned and led meetings and video conferences, presented overall project status to senior team members and regularly report on project status, and created final reports (Pilot, Sample, Trial).
- Estimating costs for new products and processes, using cost models and template structures.
- Generating documentation related to NPI Project Engineering and projects reports.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- University degree in Engineering, Process management, Project management or related field.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- 1–2 years of experience as a project engineer in an international company.
- Experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering, process development or project management.
- Strong understanding of production processes, cost estimation, and documentation standards.
- Self-motivated with initiative to achieve results.
- Strong communication, organizational and relationship-building skills.
- Problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in team-oriented environments.
- Familiarity with regulations, best practices, and performance standards.
- Experience with multi-disciplinary projects.
- Operational production experience is a plus (training will be provided).
- Time and organizational management skills.
- Numerical and writing skills, technical skills.
- Advanced MS Office proficiency.
- Willingness to travel.
