Purchasing Engineer

Job Title: Purchasing Engineer
Location: MAE/Minal Šabac

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the procurement of BOM materials, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and competitive pricing.
• Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction in BOM material purchasing.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Oversee the procurement process, ensuring efficiency and alignment with production needs.
• Analyze and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings to ensure correct material procurement.
• Monitor supplier performance and take corrective actions as necessary.
• Collaborate with internal departments, including engineering, production, and finance, to optimize procurement strategies.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, contract laws, and financial policies.
• Stay updated on market trends, supplier developments, and industry best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science or Engineering (Automation or Mechanical Manufacturing preferred).
• Minimum of five years of experience in BOM material procurement within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of an additional foreign language is a plus.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PPT) and procurement management tools.
• Expertise in procurement processes, supplier negotiations, and cost analysis.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of international trade, contract law, financial regulations, and supplier management.
• Familiarity with European market suppliers and procurement channels.
• Strong problem-solving skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
