Job title: Risk Manager (Maternity cover 12 months to 18 months)

Office location: Belgrade

About the role and the Team:

Key to this position is supporting the Risk and ESG Manager in ensuring the risk management framework is robust, effective and aligned with strategic objectives across Hyperoptic. This position is responsible for working with business areas to identify, assess and mitigate risks across Hyperoptic. This position will also be involved in tracking risk treatment actions, monitoring the business' risk management status and preparing relevant reports for relevant stakeholders.  

This role requires someone who will be proactive and engaging in their approach and possess experience in risk management within a complex industry sector with a demonstrated track record in facilitation of risk management activities. The Risk Manager will need to be both analytical and influential and able to mitigate and manage risks within this organisation.

What will you be doing?

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the development, implementation and ongoing coordination and maintenance of the risk management framework including associated supporting documentation
  • Facilitate a range of risk management activities across the business, including the assurance of risk controls and tracking of risk action plans
  • Communicate risk management requirements to relevant Hyperoptic teams and personnel and assist in training and developing staff on risk management
  • Coordinate the development of risk management procedures, risk registers and other documentation for the business
  • Monitor trends and changes in risk management requirements and related technical standards, and communicate this information to key stakeholders
  • Participate in the development and compilation of risk management document submissions, action plans and board reports
  • Analyse data and prepare reports with recommendations, presenting formal information to key internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain a comprehensive and up to date knowledge and understanding of all relevant social, economic and policy/ regulatory changes that impact on Hyperoptic's risks (e.g. Environment Social Governance (ESG) obligations, Metering and Billing Directions, Telecommunications Security Regulations/ Requirements (TSR)).
  • Develop and maintain a schedule to proactively review and monitor risks with the business and drive this process on a periodic process.
  • Manage and identify opportunities to continuously improve key systems utilised to support the risk management process (e.g. JIRA)
  • Coordinate special projects and programs on behalf of the Senior Risk and Business Continuity Manager
  • Promote company values, be an ambassador for Risk and inspire others to do the same
  • Support the goal of better understanding how Risk and Compliance can work smarter together to add value to the organisation

Strategic Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong and productive partnerships with key personnel within Hyperoptic teams. This includes holding monthly 1:1 meetings with each individual ELT member and various stakeholders to discuss their risk dashboards and ensure risks are updated accordingly
  • Develop and support delivery of organisation wide and targeted Risk Training
  • Instilling the importance of risk management and promoting its integration into decision-making processes and daily operations.
  • Facilitating cross-functional collaboration on risk management initiatives (e.g. Project Management Office, General Counsel)
  • Represent the Senior Risk and Business Continuity Manager at internal and external meetings as required.
  • Preparing the monthly risk meeting pack for the CEO/ CFO Risk and Compliance Operational Meetings

What are we looking for?

  • Excellent analytical, methodical and technical mind set: Understand complex situations and partner with business' to challenge their point of view and think outside of the square to further uplift risk management.
  • Collaboration: Working and influencing key stakeholders to drive improvements, specifically senior stakeholders to help understand how the Risk department can support and add value (essentially uplifting risk management). Escalate only the correct matters to the seniors within the Risk and Compliance team/ SLT/ ELT. Help foster a culture of risk awareness by promoting and leading training, communication, and engagement across all levels of the organisation
  • Clear and accurate documentation: Any documentation required must be clear and understandable, as well as accurate so that stakeholders receive reliable information that can be understood quickly, as well as be maintained in accordance with our internal standards.
  • Quality focus: Ensure deadlines, KPIs and response timelines are met managed efficiently.
