Senior Accountant

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a new colleague to join us as our: Senior Accountant (m/f)

If you join us, these will be your main responsibilities:

1.    Perform and responsible for local Accounting Activities:

• All statutory accounting records are maintained in accordance with best accounting practice, legal requirements and GLS group standard
• Management of Receivables, Payables and FA processes (incl write offs)
• Responsible for COD booking
• Responsible for booked provisions
• Responsible for booked invoices for services and fixed asset, control of supporting documentation, checking of OPEX/CAPEX split
• Ensure correct booking of the invoices – correct accounts, cost center, etc.
• Review and updating off accounting procedures and manuals
• Support and actively participate the implementation of SAP System

2.    Reporting

• Monthly closing of general ledger in good quality and in time
• Prepare local, statutory financial statement package
• Communication with external auditors
• Reporting to the local Statistical authorities and preparation of reports for the National Authorities
• Provide statistical, accounting and financial information to internal and external customers as required

3.    Taxes

• Prepare tax calculations, returns and reclaims (VAT, Income tax)
• Prepare and monitors tax payments
• Review and verify accuracy of tax accounting data in the SAP system
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations against final tax payments/ refunds and statements from Tax Authorities where applicable

What we expect from you:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics/finance/accounting
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the same or similar jobs
• Extremely conscientious approach to work and dedication to details
• Understanding the responsibilities of the position (following legal regulations, deadlines and harmonizing activities in accordance with them)
• Organisational and multitasking skills
• Knowledge of local (Serbian) legislation in finance and accounting
• Proactivity and desire for process automatization/optimization
• Advanced knowledge of the SAP program and MS Office
• Good knowledge of the English language (B2)
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA candidate) or Serbian Accounting agency certification is an advantage
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting principles is an advantage
• Category B driver's license (advantage)
