Job title: Sr. Payroll Tax Analyst
Location: Belgrade, Serbia
Position Summary and Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Serve as an escalation point and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complex payroll tax issues.
- Responsible for executing quarter and year-end audits by validating QTD/YTD gross to net totals and engaging appropriate stakeholders such as corporate tax, finance, benefits and equity team for confirmations.
- Prepare year end reconciliations and resolve discrepancies which may entail amending tax returns.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual worker’s comp audits to ensure proper filings and payments
- Manages tax incentives and reimbursement requests.
- Ensures that vested RSUs are properly posted to employee earnings per country legislations and GL guidelines.
- Manages timely and accurate posting of all payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations for month end close in accordance with NCRV's close schedule, policies, and procedures.
- Prepares journal entries, reclasses and flux analysis for approval.
- Keep up to date with tax changes and identify necessary system and process changes.
- Performs system and paycheck audits to ensure payroll tax rates reflect current legislations
- Support internal and external audits related to payroll tax compliance
- Maintain highest level confidentially when handling and/or reviewing private information such as; social security numbers, banking account information, earnings statements, etc.
- Stay informed about changes and updates to payroll laws and regulations and assist in implementing necessary changes to payroll processes as required.
- Participate in various HR/payroll projects as the Payroll Tax SME.
- Act as a project lead for payroll tax related initiatives including setting up meetings, discussing solutions and implementing process improvements.
- Assist in researching laws and regulation and how they affect the payroll system and processes.
- May create and maintain complex reports from Workday and other payroll systems.
- Make recommendations on operational task items, system enhancements and optimized employee experience.
- Mentor and coach other payroll team members to aid in their professional development
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field. An appropriate combination of education and work experience will be considered.
- 5+ years related experience processing high volume, multi-country/multi-state payroll for a mid to large size company.
- 5+ years related experience in payroll tax and accounting.
- Expertise in various HRIR & Payroll systems such as ADP Globalview, ADP Streamline, OSV, CloudPay and Workday.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to salaries, wages, taxes, benefits, and other payroll related matters required.
- Strong knowledge of General Ledger processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis
- Consistently achieves goals by prioritizing work and resources appropriately.
- Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Advanced Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word)
- Able to work independently under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work collaboratively.
- CPP or Payroll Tax certification is a plus.
