Test engineer

Main Responsibilities

As a Test engineer, you will be responsible for conducting testing of devices, including functional, EMC, impact, climatic and other types of testing to verify compliance with EU standards

Your tasks will include:

Establishment and development of an in-house testing facility at the enterprise:

• determining the required testing equipment;
• participating in the selection, procurement, and commissioning of testing systems;
• developing plans for the further improvement of testing infrastructure.

Conducting tests of industrial automation equipment, including:

• programmable and non-programmable controllers;
• sensors for temperature, pressure, level, flow, and others;
• I/O modules, gateways, interface and signal converters, signal conditioners;
• condition monitoring devices and other automation system components.

Organizing and performing the full product testing cycle:

• electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing;
• climatic tests (temperature, humidity, condensation);
• mechanical tests (vibration, shock, transportation);
• electrical safety tests;
• compliance verification with labeling, certification, and technical regulation requirements.

Functional testing of equipment: verification of correct hardware and software operation, system stability and reliability.

Development and updating of test methods and preparation of technical documentation:

• developing test programs and procedures;
• preparing test protocols, reports, and conclusions;
• creating new or improving existing testing methods to increase their effectiveness.

Interaction with external testing laboratories:

• selecting accredited laboratories for specific test types;
• participating in contract negotiation and conclusion;
• monitoring deadlines and quality of provided services.

Ensuring compliance of testing with applicable standards and regulations (IEC, ISO, etc.), and participation in product certification processes.

Analyzing test results and preparing reports for engineering, design, and production departments.

Cooperation with company departments (R&D, production, quality assurance) regarding product improvements and refinements.

Training and Support: Provide training to colleagues or new employees on testing processes and standards.

Monitoring changes in standards: Tracking changes in regulatory requirements and adapting testing processes to new conditions

Qualifications

• Higher technical education (preferably in instrumentation, automation, radio electronics, or electrical engineering).)
• Thorough knowledge of testing and certification standards (IEC, ISO).
• Proficiency in EMC, climatic, mechanical, and electrical testing methods.
• Experience in developing test methods, protocols, and reports.
• Ability to interact with external laboratories and regulatory institutions.
• Fluent English at level C1 or above (technical documentation reading and business correspondence).
• Skilled in operating measurement and testing equipment, understanding calibration and maintenance principles.
• Proactive approach, systems thinking, attention to detail, and strong teamwork skills.
