Translation Specialist (French Language)

We are looking for a Translation Specialist with excellent knowledge in French and English to join our talented Translation team in Clarivate, Belgrade.

In this high-impact role, you'll translate technical content in areas such as Life sciences, Pharma, Chemistry/Biomedical engineering with precision and flair, ensuring clarity across languages and industries. Your main tasks will include translating, post-editing or proofreading of patent content from your working languages into English and French to ensure that the patent contains the most precise, pertinent, and up-to-date information.

About You – Experience, Education, Skills, And Accomplishments

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Excellent knowledge of French (both written and spoken)
• Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken)
• 2+ years of working experience in similar roles

It would be great if you also had…

• Proficiency in a third language, such as Russian, Japanese or Dutch will be considered a plus
• Prior experience as a linguist using CAT tools, preferably in technical contents
• Prior experience in quality control
• Experience working with Intellectual Property (IP); i.e. patents and/or trademarks will be considered a plus

What will you be doing in this role?

• Analyse machine translated weekly publications of patents to assess quality of the MT output.
• Translate patent content with or without the assistance of MT engines.
• Review editorial suggestions applied to local translation dictionaries, approve valid suggestions and oversee updates to master dictionaries or translation memories.
• Manage customer cases and operational requests for translation enhancement, allocate retranslation/enhancement requests and manage any associated updates to the master dictionaries and translation memory.
• Provide data analysis and reporting from periodic quality benchmarking reviews.
• Provide analysis and feedback of quality assurance data to external vendors to drive continuous content improvement.
• Provide analysis and suggestions for process and content improvements as part of daily role or through participation in project teams.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, CET working hours. This is a hybrid position working in the office for a minimum of 3 days every other week.
