Position Summary: The Controlling Associate with plays a vital role in supporting the controlling and accounting functions within the organization. The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the development, provision, and improvement of regular reports for day-to-day activities, as well as monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings. The Controlling Associate ensures smooth and efficient processes by utilizing Microsoft Excel, BI Tools as well as our ERP system, Microsoft Navision, and Jet Reports. This role requires a strong finance or accounting background.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the finance department to define and develop reports and key performance indicators (KPI) utilized by the organization. Ensure the accuracy and consistency of reporting metrics across different areas.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation for existing and new reports, including report specifications, data sources, calculations, and any necessary instructions. Maintain up-to-date documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure report accuracy.
  • Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Assist in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes by preparing and reviewing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. 
  • Ensure the accuracy and consistency of data provided to the rest of the team by conducting regular data validations and reconciliations. 
  • Utilize technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, BI Tools (such as Power BI), and ERP systems (such as Microsoft Navision, D365 and Jet Reports), to extract, manipulate, and analyse data effectively. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, and IT, to gather requirements, address issues, and ensure alignment in reporting processes. 
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail in report preparation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, BI Tools (especially Power BI), and ERP systems (such as Microsoft Navision, D365 and Jet Reports) and HFM.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify trends, anomalies, and provide data-driven insights.
  • Ability to develop and document comprehensive reports and KPIs.
  • High level of accuracy in data validation, reconciliation, and report preparation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, and IT.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving data discrepancies and issues.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, IT, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles with a significant IT focus.
  • Proven experience in utilizing Microsoft Excel, BI Tools, and ERP systems for reporting and data analysis
