Position Summary:
The Test Line Technician conducts variety of electronic, mechanical and electromechanical tests on all instruments, subassemblies and parts to ensure unit(s) function according to specifications and customer’s requirements. Determine cause of unit failure by performing appropriate troubleshooting techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Reads and understands test schedule, work orders, sales orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedures and instruments to be used
- Test functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions such as temperature change, pressure and humidity
- Determines area of responsibility when instruments do not perform according to criteria, provides liaison between Test Line, Sr. Production Manager and appropriate departments, such as Assembly, Shipping, Stockroom, Engineering, Sales, Logistics and Optical Laboratory
- Calibrates test equipment according to specifications and instructions submitted from Engineering Dept.
- Reads digital displays and gauges, indicating electronic characteristics such as volts, amps, frequency, pressure, inductance and capacitance
- Compares test results with specifications and records test data
- Other duties as assigned by management
Position requirements:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college with 1-3 years experience; or technical school; with 2-4 years of experience on the job; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have knowledge of testing, troubleshooting.
- Must be Computer literate (Word, Excel, MRP System)
- Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal
- Must possess basic math skills
- Able to define basic problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
