About the role and the Team:
Data Analyst Manager has the flowing distinct parts to its role:
- Lead a team of Analysts and Senior Analysts, be an exemplary people leader and role-model Hyperoptic values in their full. They will be responsible and accountable for the KPIs and delivery plan as well as the management of their team of Data Analysts including: performance, development and workstack..
- Business Partner to individual Divisions, integrating fully into any relevant Divisional governance, partnering with Divisional leadership on defining, scoping and detailing analytics tasks and outputs to be performed. They will acquire strong understanding of the business, strategy and overall context relevant to delivering impactful analytics and insights.
- Ensure that all data analysis requests and reports are prioritised, developed, run, and maintained in accordance with the Service Levels agreed with the individual Divisions.
- Assist and guide in the analysis of complex processes and create KPIs, develop and create the standard/ad hoc, analytics and reporting – and lead their team to perform any other analytical tasks that will support Hyperoptic ELT and the leadership overall in making impactful business decisions.
- Play a key role in Data Assurance, understanding areas where data fails to meet the accuracy, quality or timeliness that supports correct, effective and efficient insights development and analysis; documenting the outcomes and working with data producers in perfecting our data.
What will you be doing?
Team Leadership
- Lead a team of analysts, provide support, mentoring, coaching and overall team direction
- Coordinate activities within the team, setting clear and challenging objectives and expectations for each team member
- Transfer your knowledge to younger team members and to analysts in the wider organization. Define the art of possible and shape analytics journey of Hyperoptic
- Lead and coach the team on how to scope, build and deliver regular and ad hoc analysis and reporting
- Regularly update development plans for technical and soft skills, organize trainings and learning opportunities
- Inspire the team and role model Hyperoptic values
Business Partnership
- Be integral part of Divisional leadership as a Analytics & Insights Business Partner, be part of Divisional governance and drive impact through defining, scoping and executing analytics tasks and delivering insights aligned with business objectives and which will make the Division and Hyperoptic successful
- Be a peer to Divisional leadership in problem solving, discussing business direction, opportunities, risks and strategies; be open to challenge as well as propose solutions
- Be the translation and link between strategy, business and analytics teams
- Be proactive in strategizing and offering directions and insights which you believe would be impactful in reaching Divisional and overall Hyperoptic objectives
- Support Divisions in their Reporting, Analystics and Insights prioritization
Deliver on Reporting, Analytics tasks, and Insights
- Execute, together with the team, analysis and insights at high quality and agreed timelines and to any other SLAs as defined with stakeholders
- Support Divisions in defining most relevant and insightful reporting to deliver on Division's objectives, manage stakeholders and give guidance to the business; execute on the reporting
- Show wide ownership of reporting, analytics and insights tasks which also include forecasting as required by the Leadership
- Ensure resources and capacity is balanced to deliver on most analysis most impactful for the business
- Effectively communicate and translate results and insights to Leadership Team
- Reporting and analysis the ISP domain and metrics such as Homes Passed, Performance, Penetration, Subscribers, Campaigns and Churn.
Advancing analytics capabilities
- Evaluate models and methodologies, and explore new approaches for analytics teams, including advanced statistical models, machine learning and AI
- Experiment, be curious, push the boundaries on knowledge within analytics and wider business teams
- Continuously educate yourself and deepen your expertise
- Educate teams and transfer knowledge to build capabilities of the organization
Tracking people performance
- Build clear objectives and understanding for team delivery
- Use reliable reporting to produce performance tracking information for consumption by finance team and by team management
- Present information at management meetings
- Hold senior Business managers to account for performance metrics
Data Assurance
- Be the keeper of data quality and compliance, identify, analyze and document gaps in data accuracy, quality and compliance
- Engage with Data Stewards of Data Producers and Leadership to communicate Data Assurance gaps and challenges
- Hold Data Stewards and Leadership accountable for addressing and closing Data Assurance gaps and challenges
What we are looking for:
- Advanced user of MS Office (Excel, Word, Power point…) with expert knowledge of Excel
- Minimum three-year experience in related data analysis
- Experience with BI tools (Tableau or similar software)
- Ability to think analytically and creatively
